HS Basketball – Ralston Roundup 5th Place Game

Next up was the 5th/6th place game between the Loveland Indians and the Rangeview Raiders.  One thing I have to gripe about, coaches, please upload a correct roster to MaxPreps.com.  Having you team with only four players with numbers does nothing for the kids.  No way to tag them in the photos, or link their photos to their player page.  A lot of newspapers also use the MaxPreps rosters to help write their stories, so correct numbers on players is huge.

This was a pretty good game.  Loveland is a much smaller team than Rangeview, but they did not back down.  They fought hard all game.  Rangeview outscored the Indians 20-17 in the first quarter, and 13-12 in the second quarter, taking just a 4 point lead into the locker rooms at halftime.  Could Loveland come back and upset the Raiders?

The Indians started the 4th trailing by 8 points after Rangeview out scored Loveland 19-15 in the third.  Would 8 points be too much for the Indians to overcome?  Yes.  In fact, Loveland fell flat in the fourth quarter.  Rangeview took over in the fourth scoring 21 points and held the Indians to just 10 points.  Rangeview went on to claim 5th place in the Roundup with a 73-54 win over the Loveland Indians.
