HS Football – Ralston Valley Homecoming

After the first game between Monarch and Golden was over so quick, there was two hours between the start of the second game of the night.  I was ready to head out to find some dinner when the chain gang invited me up to the main gate booth for a potluck.  If I would have known there was going to be food, I might have brought something.  The food was good and it was nice not having to rush around to go get dinner and be back in time for kick off of the second game.  And as a bonus, the snow that was falling during the first game blew away and things cleared up for the RV game.

Ralston Valley was coming off of a loss to Fairview last week, and was looking for a strong game to bounce back in.  It was also the Mustangs homecoming game.  This was the third homecoming game I had shot in three weeks.  When the game started, Boulder looked much better than they did the week earlier against Pomona, and Ralston Valley was not looking like the dominate team I had seen previously.  But then, all of that changed.  The Mustangs turned on the offense and, much like the first game of the evening, were were in a mercy rule running clock early on.

Boulder was able to get on the board with a touchdown in the 4th quarter, but it did not matter as RV would go on to win the game 47-7.
