HS Girls Soccer – Beautiful Day Ends With Home Loss

Finally! It was shorts weather at the North Area Athletic Complex for the HS girls soccer game between Eaglecrest and Golden.  A week that started out in winter shooting gear, finished up for me with near 70 degree sunshine.

However, the sun was not shining on the home team.  Golden could not find the back of the goal throughout regulation.  The same went for the visiting Raptors of Eaglecrest.  The winds picked up, and the girls struggled with timing their jumps for headers, or overshot passes because of the wind.

So, for the second day in a row, we were going to overtime tied 0-0.  And it did not take long for Eaglecrest to send a chip shot over the Golden Demons goalkeeper for the game winning golden goal.

It was a heartbreaking loss for the home team Demons who would fall to the Standley Lake HS Girls soccer team the following night also.
