10 Shot - HS Men's Tennis Peak to Peak at Ralston Valley

HS Men’s Tennis is here.

This was my first tennis meet this year, and only my third ever.  I am still not one hundred percent comfortable with tennis, but I think I am getting there.  During most of the day leading up to the matches against Peak to Peak High School at Ralston Valley High School, it was sunny and hot.  By the time the games started, clouds had rolled in and made for some very flat light.

Ralston Valley won the meet, 4-3.

One fun thing to watch was the doubles play of senior Bryn Finnefrock and junior Rane Hornecker from Ralston Valley.  Neither one has a extensive background in tennis, and their two handed (baseball bat) style of hitting the ball was effective but comical to watch.

Here are the photos…I focused mainly on RV Mustangs junior Marcus Hock, one of the team captains.  I noticed him last year and he has a really good game and is a joy to photograph.

It was interesting to see the player before, Jon Gillespie, on the tennis court.  He got recognized last winter when one of my basketball photos was a shot of the week on MaxPreps.
