While I have shot Ralston Valley’s HS Tennis team a few times the past two seasons, I have had requests both last year and this year to shoot Arvada West’s HS Tennis team. Last year, it was too late for me to get to a meet. This year I planned on getting to at least one meet over at Arvada West High School, but those plans were quickly dashed with the major rains and floods that hit the area as many outdoor sports were postponed for close to two weeks. With everything dry now, I headed up to Ralston Valley High School to cover the final meet of the regular season, between the Mustangs and the Arvada West Wildcats. So I was finally able to cover A-West!
It was a rough outing. This late in the season, the sun was at a different angle than my previous tennis shoots, so I was dealing with a lot of side lighting, backlighting, direct lighting and shadows. It was actually one of my less fun tennis shoots so far, but I still came away with some decent shots and the A-West parents seem happy.
Ralston Valley won the meet 4-3.
Here is my 10 Shot from the game. No captions this time.
