A short week for the Buffaloes as their only opponent this week was the Utah Utes as they came across the Continental Divide to face their Pac-12 rivals. Colorado was looking at bouncing back from their second loss this season to Arizona State.

The Buffs were without freshman forward Josh Scott who was listed as day to day after being knocked out in the second half of the ASU game. He was sitting on the bench in sweats and had earplugs in to keep the noise at the Coors Events Center from bothering his concussion too much.

After shooting 39 hockey games and three basketball games the previous week, I was happy for the short week with the Buffs.
Early in the first half I saw something I have been waiting for all season, a break away. I quickly changed from my 7D and 70-200 2.8 lens and grabbed my Canon 1D Mark II with the 24-70 2.8 lens and started shooting away. My favorite shots from the breakaway are bellow.

Unfortunately, the above play was blown dead as Utah fouled the Buffs as the ball was stolen and the fast break started. Still made for a fun shot and gave me an idea for the next game, but you will have to wait to see what that is.

André Roberson and the rest of the Buffs picked up their game with Scott out and they were playing like a team possessed. There was very little the Utes could do to stop the stampeding Buffaloes.

The Utes tried hard to get into the game, but just could not find the groove. And with the deafening sound from the CU fans, the Buffs just had that extra little bit going for them.

Near the end of the game the Utes went into desperation mode and started fouling to attempt to chip away at the Buffaloes lead, but when you foul players like Askia Booker and Spencer Dinwiddie, you are not going to get any closer.
