The Denver metro area had snow storm blow in so it was cold for the Standley Lake Gators and George Washington Patriots girls varsity soccer game at the NAAC in Arvada. The sun was out and as one of the pictures shows bellow, I had a visitor come sit close to me for a while.

Everyone anticipated that this would be an easy game for the Gators. No one told the Patriots. In the first half the George Washington goalkeeper was phenomenal. Incredible saves and some help from the posts and crossbar kept Lake off of the scoreboard in the first half. However, the Patriots were not able to find the back of the net either.

In the second half, the Gators unloaded, and as good as the Patriots goalkeeper was, there was nothing she could do and let the soccer ball get past her for six goals in the second half.
