HS Soccer

Here we go with the first of many posts.  It has been a busy week.  It started with soccer the day before this game, then this game, a third soccer game the next, then a Thursday night football game, followed up with a Friday night football double header and it ended Saturday with the final regular season Rapids soccer game.

It was odd having a home game for Evergreen High School at the NAAC, but the game against the Golden Demons was just that.  The Cougars of Evergreen High School are having a great season, and Golden trails the Cougars by one win.  The Demons had one tie going into this game, so trailed Evergreen in the standing.  The Cougars are #2 in Jeffco, while the Demons are sitting in 4th place.

Golden scored the only goal in the first half, but the Cougars were able to come back and tie the game in the 2nd half.  After two overtimes, we were still knotted at 1-1 and that is how the game ended.  It begs a thought.  Why have overtime at all if you are still going to end with a tie if no one scores?  If you have OT, go all the way and finish with penalty kicks or do not have regular season OT at all.
