HS Soccer – CHSAA 4A State Playoffs
So I did something new for Wednesday’s soccer game. I used flash. Yuck. I have avoided shooting 6pm soccer games like the plague all season because I absolutely hate using flash for soccer. With football, you have a little bit of time to frame up the action. You can see the quarterback dropping back for a pass, you can see the running back coming, and a lot of between play shot opportunities. With soccer, it moves so quick most of the time, by the time you get that flashed frame off you are either too early or too late. And with the field so much wider, a lot of the play can be well out of the usable range of your flash. But I did it anyway.
The Mitchell Marauders came up from Colorado Springs to face the Golden High School Demons soccer team Wednesday night for a first round 4A soccer tournament game. It was a pretty good game, but in the end, the Demons netted the games only goal in the second half. So, what does this mean for Golden? They have a second round match up against the tough Denver North Vikings squad that is ranked 2nd in state 4A soccer and has one of the top players in the nation playing for them, senior Danny Bautista, who has 24 goals for them this season. Bautista is coming off of a hat trick in the Vikings first round playoff win and will be tough for the Golden Demons to contain.
Here is my 10 Shot from the Mitchell and Golden game.
