HS Basketball – Eagles take on the Mustangs
While i had a few Colorado Buffaloes basketball games under my belt before this game, this was my first strobed basketball game of the 2013/14 season. Typical, I found that I will need to tweak my settings a bit for this season. I actually have an idea for the next game I shoot in this gym that might serve me a little better, something I did not try last season so I will play with it a little next game.
Valor Christian was coming off of their football state championship win on Saturday, so they were not at full strength. Football stand out Christian McCaffrey was not with the team yet as he still has the Army Senior All American game to play, and has to get the required basketball practices in. The Mustangs were knocked out of the football playoffs by Valor Christian, so they were looking for a little payback.
The Eagles jumped out in the first quarter, putting 22 points onto the scoreboard and held the home team Mustangs to just 8 points. After Ralston Valley shook off the cobwebs, they played a great game. Valor outscored the Mustangs 9-7, but it was a much better quarter than the first was, but the home team went into the locker room at halftime trailing the Eagles 31-15.
The third period, the Mustangs matched the Eagles with both teams putting 14 points up in the quarter. The fourth quarter, the Mustangs added another 14 points, but Valor outscored Ralston Valley by putting up 18 and winning the game 63-43.
Here is my 10 Shot from the game.
