HS Basketball – Senior Night
It was the final home game for the Ralston Valley Mustangs boys hoopsters for the season. Parents stood with their seniors before their final regular season home game.
Standley Lake jumped out to an early lead in the game. They were playing very will in the first half of the first quarter. But then, something happened to the team, that allowed the Mustangs to get back into the game. The second half of the game things got a little out of control for the home team, but they were able to hold off the Gators and win the game 48-44.
The road for the Mustangs over the next week to close out the season is not going to be an easy one. On February 19th, the Mustangs are at Dakota Ridge, who they beat at home by only 4 points earlier this season, and then the regular season comes to an end when the Mustangs visit their cross town rivals, Arvada West, for the third match up of the season. RV has won the first two meetings, the first to win the Ralston Round Up over the Wildcats by 3 points, and then at home in the first meet up of the regular season. That was a 12 point win for Ralston Valley. So if the Mustangs can pull a win over Dakota Ridge and a third win over Arvada West, paired with a loss by league leading Chatfield to Columbine and Arvada West would put the Mustangs in first place going into the State Championship Playoffs.
I will, unfortunately, miss the AWest game Friday with the hockey tournament starting at the same time at the APEX Center.
Here is my 10 Shot from the game.
