HS Girls Soccer – WOW!  Not Pomona!

With all the cancelations due to snow, finally I covered a game that did not include the Pomona Panthers.  It was a beautiful day at the North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC) for a soccer game between the Lakewood Tigers and the Golden Demons.

All the scoring took place in the first half, with Golden topping Lakewood 2-1.  There were a lot of scoring attempts for Golden in the second half, but the girls just could not finish some great opportunities.  So, with the 2-1 lead holding through the scoreless second half, Golden bounced back from a 7-0 loss to Ralston Valley earlier in the week.

This game was pretty rough.  A lot of fouls got a stern talking to by officials, but amazingly, no cards were brought out.  This was much to the disliking of the Lakewood coach, who a couple times started yelling at the Golden assistant coach.  It was just volatile all around.

I wish I had a better angle for this next one.  It was quite chaotic in this series with the ball almost finding the net twice.
