HS Girls Basketball – Wow, what a 3rd Quarter
The game between the Columbine Rebels and the Ralston Valley Mustangs Wednesday night looked like it might be a good game. In the first quarter, Columbine took it to the home team Mustangs, outscoring Ralston Valley 17-10. The Rebels were playing good, hitting shots, and grabbing defensive rebounds. They showed they could play against the Mustangs. In the second quarter Ralston Valley stormed back and took the lead on 21-12 run giving them a 31-29 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, it was all Mustangs. From steals, to offensive and defensive rebounds, the Mustangs shut down the Columbine girls, outscoring them 30-2 in the first 8 minutes after the halftime break.
In the fourth quarter Ralston Valley continued their dominance, outscoring the Rebels 24-19. It was a good game for the Mustangs, and it would have been a good game for the Rebels if they would have come out in the third quarter as strong as they played in the first half, but there was nothing that they could do in the third against a energized group of Mustangs.
Here is my 10 Shot from the game.
