HS Volleyball – The end of a long day
After shooting the Ralston Valley Mustangs softball team capture the Jeffco League Championship with their win against the Chatfield Chargers, I headed across the parking lot to cover the same two schools on the volleyball court.
I will continue to say it, volleyball is a tough sport to shoot, and after coming inside from a dusty, hot softball game, I was not warn out, but I was hoping for a quick volleyball match. I guess I should have told the teams I wanted a quick match. Both teams refused to give up, and Chatfield won the first two games 27-25 and 26-24. A regulation game goes to 25, but you must win by two, so, it took 3 extra points for Chatfield to win the first two games. Down 0-2 and facing a loss, Ralston Valley bounced back claiming the next two games, 26-24 (another extra point needed), and 25-23. So it came down to game 5, and Ralston Valley was the first to reach 15 (score needed to win in a 5th game) and held Chatfield to 13. So, a come from behind win for the softball team against Chatfield, followed up with a come from behind win against Chatfield on the volleyball court. What a day.
Here is my 10 shot from the match.
