I returned to Ralston Valley to shoot another tennis match on Tuesday evening. This was only my second outing shooting tennis at any level, but the response I got from my first outing against Dakota Ridge was so good, that I had to hit the tennis courts one more time… Here are some of the resulting images.

It was a nice overcast afternoon, a little cool, but the rains held off allowing for 8 games to start while I was there. I shot these with my Canon 7D and Sigma 120-300 2.8.

The Lakewood Tigers orange shirts made for a nice punch of color, and once again I had great access to the courts.

Something I was watching for more than ball on racket, or ball in frame was hair. Like the shot bellow, I really liked the way his hair was moving as he jumped around the court after the tennis ball, it adds something to the shot to me…

Facial expressions was something else I was more focused on this time around too…

Some of the doubles matches were hard to shoot because of the faster pace. I was able to get a great close up of this Ralston Valley player who was playing the net in his doubles match.

When the second games started, it was a little goofy. One RV player was in pajama pants, and one had dark Rayban sunglasses on. Made for some interesting shots…

Near the end of my shoot, the sun broke out for a minute giving some great golden light. Worked great with this player in his doubles match.
