The Standley Lake Gators girls soccer team hosted the Lakewood Tigers for a Jeffco Conference game on Monday afternoon at the North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC). While it was a beautiful day for soccer, the wind was blowing off of the Colorado foothills and it was cold.
I brought all my stuff to the game to set up my remote camera behind the goal, but I forgot one key piece. So I shot with a single camera for this game and the half of the following game. Standley Lake dominated the first half of the game, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Gators added onto their lead over the Tigers with a single goal and held a 3-0 lead until the very last second of the game. With the wind blowing very hard, the Tigers sent a desperation shot at the Gators goal, and it looked like it was going to sail right over the goal. The wind caught the soccer ball and forced it straight down into the goal as the buzzer sounded helping Lakewood avoid the shutout.
Here is my 10 Shot from the soccer game.
